P@H Nuggets

I'm amazed!

We adopted two guineas from a rescue centre last week. They were being fed Gertie there and the centre told us to continue feeding them as it was the best thing. I've not been overly happy with it I have to say, as they guineas only seem to pick out 2 or 3 things from it and leave the rest. I had it in my mind I was going to introduce them to nuggets after a week or so to make sure they're getting a balanced diet, so last night i put a tablespoon full of P@H nuggets on top of the Gertie in their bowl. When we put them back in, they went straight to the dried food and ate ALL the nuggets off the top! They even ignored the fresh dinner that was next to it to eat the nuggest first!

I couldn't believe it! I thought it was going to be really hard to get them onto the different dried food, but they loved it :D :D

Awww my pig loves veg more then the dry food

What veg do yours eat?
 
Up until now these two have as well!

So far we've tried them with kale, savoy cabbage, carrots, cucumber, apple, mini gem lettuce, pear (didn't touch!), grapes (didn't like), raspberries (ate one!). Last night we have them some red pepper and kwiw too, but am in work today so didn't see the bowl this morning to see if they ate any!

Have a galia melon ripening on the window sill to try them with too, but its a bit hard at the mo. Also growing some spinach for them.

We have some really wild long grass stems at the bottom of our garden so we always cut some and put it in the run with them! They LOVE it. In fact, they love it so much they try to take it off each other! They had a "lady and the tramp" moment the other night with one bit. Me and my partner were curled up with laughter ;D

What sort do you give them? How ripe does it tend to be when you give it to them? I guess if i taste it and its still a bit hard its a bit hard for the guineas?
 
I give mine the yellow one (dunno what its called) and i taste it to see if its hard and i cut it into little bits :smitten:

Thanks! Thats what i was planning to do...!
 
mine have p@h nuggets used to get Gertie was told just to give them 80% Gertie 20% nuggets then gradually increase the nuggets and decrease the Gertie they love it and its lasts much longer.

just tried my pigs on kale, kiwi, they love them both and parsley, orange, sml amounts of apple and broccoli, banana on odd occasions, carrots, pea pods, lettuce not as much as used to, tomatoes occasionally as well.
 
mine looove P@H nuggets, but not as much as their veggies and fruit! ::) (not quite)
