Went into P@H in Aintree tonight and couldnt belive the pigs they had in there, they had a little silver agouti and white aby sow (really tempted), a full golden agouti sow, a black and white sheltie boar who was gorgeous, an american crested boar and a choc himi boar :o :o :o i was stood there for about half an hour. Even rang my mum and said 'mum they've got these pigs...' and she just said 'dont think about it' and put the phone down lol! I had to be dragged away i wanted them all :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

your mum sounds just like mine, i always used to ring her up when i was younger asking for different things every week and thats the common reply i got :( ;D

Lol then i rang her back, and said, we just got one and she said oh right ok! So should have got one! My new shed has room for 8, thats the limit. ive got 4 now. I understand her not wanting any more in the house they take a lot of room up! x

awwww yeah mine are in my bedroom and my OH said you might aswell turn the spare room (which is huge) into a piggie palace lol, i said i might do but i still dont want anymore :)

Fogot to say they had a little black rex too :) yeh ive got mine in the spare room, but its getting a bit ridiculous lol so they need their own little space and my mum wants her house back!

I keep mine in the spare room. The guineas and all there stuff was taking up so much room my OH sais i might aswell have it all contained in one room. Its my favourite room in the house ;D

Mine too :) and its always nice and warm because the doors always shut, the rest of the house is freezing these days!

Hi Emma,

P@H St Helens had some gorgoeus teddies. However, I'm worry about getting full breeds from pets at home since all my probs with Cuzzy. They are lovely though! Shame they are in pet shops! :(

I could watch them all day!

they had some gorgeous piggies in ours today too!

a gorgeous ginger and white abby, and a black abby. a self black. a black and brown rex, a himi, and one that looked like it had a bit of roan in her, but obviously dont know for sure being from P@H and all.

there was also a gorgeous tricolour for adoption, and a gorgeous black and white crested boar.

Wow! Seriously though i cant stop thinking about that Sheltie boar, he was soooo gorgeous! One of the best looking pigs ive seen. He had a half black, half white face right down to the mouth and nose being pink and black :smitten: :smitten: then he was mostly white with black streaks going all down one side :smitten: :smitten: if i had my shed i probably would have baught him and the himi as a pair, thank god i didnt though, no room at the inn at the moment!

awwww he sounds gorgeous!

we found my housemates sheltie at P@H and fell in love with him straight away, i almost got him for myself :smitten:

Well you're a very good girl for being so restrained - they sound absolutely gorgeous - think I probably would've been tempted (probably would've been divorced too but hey so long as the piggies are cool!)

your as bad as my missus...She is banned from P@H now as our last two visits have resulted in Corona and Lanson coming home with us....

Emma you are so naughty! ;D If I can't get Eccles his brother I will have to restrain myself from going here! Nooo I don't agree with pet shops! Peter will have to bind my feet together so I can't drive! >:D

why are they selling it ? :o :o :o

Well, it was also sold in 2004 - so presumably Bridgepoint (who bought it) see now as a good time to get their investment repaid! O0

Awwwwwww, they had a rex? I would love one but was heartbroken when we lost Fuzzy then Lucky. :'( They were from P@H.

Much as I would love a little woolly baby I think i will wait for a rescue rex. Don't want to lose another one.

I know what you mean Katie, the little rex was still there tonight, they all were. It was a girl aswell and i know you've got all boys so she might have set them all off anyways lol! She was a cutie too black with ginger in and all round and small :)

Aw!!!
Its good that its a little girl, my brother stays with us some weekends and he is terribly allergic to female furries, which is why we have all boys (too much testosterone and nasty niffs but they are all lovely!) - otherwise I would have been tempted, but as OH points out, its another cage to clean out..

But if anyone had a little rex boy that needs rehoming, please let me know!

Presumably it depends on who buys it. Bridgepoint bought it, but it stayed as Pets at Home - I think because their business is basically buying companies, building them up, then selling them on again!

However, if another pet chain bought them, then I assume they would become that particular chain instead of p@h - I guess like Morrison's bought out Safeway!

I'm not a big fan of business, I don't completely understand it....but I think i've got most of that right!

Just when they were starting to sort themselves out too ::)

Yeh, thinking about it, there have been a lot of improvements since they were last bought out - ie. better caresheets, better accommodation, better product ranges. But then again - I only started working there a little while before the buyout, so didn't really get a feel of what it was like before.

But who knows - maybe the next buyer will carry on with the improvements... they may even disagree with selling animals! ;)

I do think P@H have come a long way. Still not happy with the harnesses they sell for guineas and some of the treats but the care they are giving the guineas is a lot better then it used to be. I went in one shop tonight (not P@H) and they had pigs and buns in a pen the rabbits where standing all over the guineas and the screams out of them was horrible. :( In comparison P@H is excellent!

I find the staff and both my local stores great and knowledgable. I'd buy it for 600 million if I had it! It goes to show how much money they make if they are selling it for that amount!

I baught a girl tonight and it was a girl i knew who served me and i told her she would be going with another girl but at the desk another 2 of them said we cant sell girls on their own, she explained about Sephy and it was fine but i thought that was really good that they were checking :)

The work thats gone into branding for p@h, I very much doubt it will change tbh :)

oOOOo New piggy? Details! Pics? :smitten: :smitten: ;D

Yes i've got a new piggie PP :) She's the little silver agouti and white one i was talking about in the 1st post :) i'll post about her later when i've got some good pics :) x
