Am I right in thinking that a black all weather roof coating on a shed would attract extra heat and make it too hot in summer ?

Hi- I was looking at this not too long ago. My shed roof is dark grey anyway so I wouldn't imagine its much different, especially if you have a window/ventilation already. I did see some white alternatives but not sure how that would look. Maybe if the black poofing could be painted over after that might work...I didn't get that far in looking but might be worth investigating?

Same here ,I was just looking at a white reflective one but I think it would look a little strange, especially as my shed is a very dark brown.
I do have reflective insulation inside the shed and will be getting an internal wire screen door made for added ventilation in summer ...but I don't know if that'll be enough if the roof is black.

I have reflective insulation too...sounds like we have a very similar set up. I currently have a heater on an extension cable going through the window....it'll be attached to an aircon next and I'll be moving in! 😂

Interested in your wire screen door idea- that would work perfectly- did you go online for that or is someone making it for you?

I know what you mean , I seem to be spending more time in the shed than in the house, I may as well move in 😂

My OH is going to make the door ( if it ever stops raining )I'm totally rubbish at diy.
I was thinking something like this..

That looks really good! I'd like to do something similar although not sure exactly how yet. I'll need to go down there & suss it out. The pigs are still inside currently since the storm & I need to clean out the shed before they go back (cant be bothered today so they can stay put for now 😊). Besides, the grass is absolutely saturated so like one big bog 🙄 roll on spring!
