Mine's 2, do you think that'll be okay?

Pairing up guinea pigs is more a matter of finding a character compatible pair with mutual liking than one of age. If you bond cross gender, anything goes, as long as they like each other. Carwyn (who is 1300g) was living my frail 7 year old sow before; not he has got two young wives. Other boars of mine live with sows that are more their age. But I have also seen older boars of 6 or 7 years being paired up with a quiet, caring rescue baby that was then rebonded once their old companion passed away.

Please be aware that there is always a certain risk of a fall-out when a baby boar hits the hormonal teenage months. The risk is much less than if you have two babies growing up and hitting the macho time together, as the difference in ages will go towards stabilising the bond. Adult to adult boar dating, altough much more time intensive, means that the result bond is as stable as a sow/sow bond.
