Panda has had to be put to sleep this evening. When I cleaned out the Piggy Palace today I found a pool of blood where someone had wee'd. There was a lot of blood.
They were all in the carry box for clean-out so we just rushed straight off to the vet. She checked them all but Panda was the one whose blood was red :( He had an X-ray and he had two more bladder stones inside, the bigger one appeared to be stuck to the wall of the bladder.
We could have tried surgery again but he was so much worse than when he had the last one (he's had two already), and has at least one growth inside as well, so we decided to let him go. It was hard, and I am still crying now.
I have had the pleasure of Panda's company since September 2012, and he was at least a year old when he came, so he's had a good long life. He will be much missed.

I'm so sorry, you did everything you could and he knows this. Popcorn free Panda xx

BIG HUGS
I am so sorry - what a bad shock for you! We all dread diagnoses like that. Right now, you cannot help but feel the loss acutely, but take consolation in that you have made the right decision, even though it has been the most heart-breaking one you could have made.

RIP Panda

I am so sorry for your loss-I lost my first piggy in 2015 January 4 days after her birthday. One minute she was fine and then when I woke up the next morning she was lopsided and had a greenish drool. She went completely off her food instantly and didn't swallow any mash etc. The one time she perked up was when I placed her on the grass and she had a little run but nothing like she used too. I knew it was time for her to go when she cuddled up to my neck when I had her out. The vet never did know what was wrong and the guy whom we purchased her from had never had anything like that happen before. I have my suspicions that she had meningitis which I knew was basically fatal in all piggies. She had only just turned 3 when she passed and thought the vet said we could try another surgery, but I knew that it was selfish to make her suffer any longer. I waited a year before I got my boar Mo because I was afraid that I had done something wrong but sadly meningitis is one of those rare things that can just happen.
I am really sorry @Sue and Smartie for your loss but please remember Panda in all the good times and I'm sure that you did the right thing. Six years old is a great age for a piggy! X my thoughts are with you.♡

I'm so very sorry - hugest of hugs to you. It's awful having to make that decision so quickly but you know you have made the very kindest decision for your little chap. You have been so very brave making that decision for him. You must have loved him very much. Popcorn free Panda xx

Panda was a shouter and it's so damned quiet in here without him!

Sounds like there is a Panda shaped hole in your heart and in your piggy room. I'm so sorry. It has brought back all the memories I have of losing my beloved Mr Ted in very similar circumstances last year. You loved him enough to let him go. Hugs xx

I'm truly sorry... Sending you lots of hugs and love. I'm sure Panda had the best life by your side x
