So Mr Freddie and Marmalade usually spend their days in a hutch, evenings stretching their legs in a run and nights in a house cage - so they can watch tv, have some company (with me) and lots of cuddles.

But tonight they seem so happy outside in their hutch I thought I'd leave them there.

They seem fine.

I'M PANICKING. TOTALLY PANICKING!

Should I leave them out or bring them in... am I a cruel owner because I just think about my own worries and not their needs ?/

If they're happy and fine then leave them! I'm sure they'll be okay! It won't stop you worrying though I'm sure! :)) if your really bothered then bring them in :)

I can't bare the thought of them alone in the dark... that's so pathetic isn't it, hahahaha. Thanks for your reply x

Of course you're not a cruel owner! I think it depends on the temperature outside and whether you think they'd be more comfortable inside tonight if that's what they're used to. As long as the temperature isn't too hot/cold, they have enough water, food and they're safe and comfortable, I'm sure they'd be fine outside also. Though if it gives you a peace of mind, bring them in so you won't be panicking or worrying about them :)

My piggies live indoors, however I turn the lights off for them at night and they're quite happy with it. In the mornings or whenever I go in to check on them they're usually cuddled up together so you know they've got each other's company.

I don't suppose they'll even notice the difference either way, chances are they'll just snuggle up next to each other and relax!

I think the funny thing is... when I get up in the morning and start shuffling around upstairs they get really excited hearing me and start squealing and wheeking. By the time I get into the living room they are climbing up the front of the cage in expectation. I think it's so nice to be needed - is that why we have pets?

Mine cuddle up to sleep as well... it's so cute isn't it! x

Yes I agree! Whenever I pop into the piggy room I'm often greeted with a chorus of wheeking - especially if it's near dinner time! You're right, it's nice to feel needed and wanted somewhere, I really get the 'feel-good factor' whenever I'm with my animals, whether that's the dogs, piggies or Pumpkin, my hamster.
