hi
poor old pansy's got a funny tummy now :'( last night when i was having a cuddle it was really gurgling etc. so i flicked it gently and it sounded hollow, it wasn't hard, so not bloat, but a little swollen, so i went on bloat alert. I gave her 1 teaspoon of olive oil and a massage. well this morning she seems to be feeling a bit sorry for herself and her tummy's very tender so i gave her a buscopan (as directed by Peter Gurney ;) ) to see if that helps with the pain. so for now she's on hay, water, pellets and grass as her poos are a bit soft too O0 i just picked her a bowl of grass and she is tucking into that and seeming more bright, so i'm hoping it's just a temporary blip and she'll be back on the mend O0

One of mine did this, I did what you did, gave some olive oil but also syringed some water to make sure she was getting enough, the next day her poops were soft but at least they were there! ;D and great that she's eating...
get well soon pansy :smitten:

thanks :smitten: will see a vet if i'm very concerned, but i'm an old hand at bloat now LOL ::) Yeah i'm going to syringe some water and i thought some pro-biotic? I'm just waiting for her to have as much of the grass as she wants O0 there's quite a lot of water in grass aswell and i also left a fair bit of water on it when i washed it O0

just given her some water with pro-biotic in O0 she put up a good fight, so thats a good sign O0 she's got very runny quite smelly poo, but definitely seems more herself so thats a releif xx0 i think she just needs to get her poos normal and shift that gas lol ::) gave her a massage and played the piano on her tummy 98) and it seems less tight so thats also good O0

just given her some more water and pro-biotic i'm also giving her some science recovery O0 her poo is so watery and smelly :-\
she's still having bits of grass and she did actually seem more perky and bright this time O0 her tummy's gone down a lot, but still sounds hollow :( seems very sore :(but as i say at least she seems more perky and bright and she did put up a fight! ::)
i'm just kinda worried having lost mimi recently and all, but she seems to be on the mend and i don't think it's serious :'( :-* i'm gonna have to wash her bum later, it's covered in dihorrea :'(

I wonder if too much grass doesn't help? It can be quite rich. If you mean dried grass then that should be fine. If I were you I'd be giving her tons of hay, dried grass (if you have it), and maybe a bit of carrot or similar.

really hoping pansy gets better for you :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: you seem to be doing a wonderful job with her, if it was me i'd be in a right old panic. :tickedoff: sending you hugs and paryers and hoping her poops firm up. :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

thanks i am in a panick lol! :'( just so worried having lost mimi. yeah i'm gonna stick off the grass too O0 yeah redigrass, hay and dry food O0 i'm thinking of seeing a vet, she seems a bit lathargic but she does perk up when she comes out :-\

gosh i'm in a right state here, crying it just brings it all back with mimi and i just don't want to loose pansy too :'( :'( :'( :'(
i gave her a rennie and a buscopan (peter gurney) and just given her some more SR :'( :smitten:

Maybw get Pansy to a vet to put your mind at rest Izzy? Sorry can't help more not had this problem yet. :-\

Hope Pansy is ok, is she in with the babes now? :smitten:

hi lou, i'm thinking that
no she's not, thought i'd let them settle and then all this happened so no not yet O0

just given her some more water and pro-biotic and some SR she actually started to eat some hay :)

That's a good sign, just lay off the veg and see how she goes. It is more than likely that something hasn't agreed with her. She's had a rough time with Mimi passing away she may just be feeling low. :smitten:

hope she gets better soon :smitten: lots of piggies seem to be feeling down at the minute :(

just bathed her and she jumped out of the bowl a few times! :o ::) and she had a little run round the hall and is eating some hay, she seems more normal in herself but her tummy's still swollen and seems sore and hollow sounding, but i'm feeling releived because she seems quite a lot like just a normal piggie so i hope she's turned the corner O0

Glad she seems bit better :) Hope she is back to normal soon :smitten:

thanks :) i think she's doing what ralfie did to you recently Emma! ::) making us worry our heads off for a day or so and then being better again, at least i hope thats what she's doing! :-*

hoping pansy continues to improve. :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: sending hugs and cuddles to you both, must have scared you when she jumped out of the bowl. sending prayers your way, hoping pansy continues to improve. :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

Hi Izzy hope Pansy is doing better now send her big :-* :-* :-* :-* from me and Fugly

Thanks :)
Well I woke up to find her completely deflated :o next to a huuuuge pile of normal poos, running around and then she sat next to her food bowl as bright as a button and started wheeking! ;D so i think we can safely say she's back to normal :) I am sooooo releived and so happy :) :) :) :) I'm going to have to watch her diet me thinks, because i think she's been having to much brassicas (windy veg ;D). I'm just so pleased because she looks like nothings ever happened (if you ignore the olive oil all down her chin) ::)
I think it's going to be a day of rest for me today LOL i'm absoloutly done in! ::) :)

so glad to hear shes improved! Guineas getting us all worried ::) ;D

Glad Pansy is better that must be a weight of your mind

You must be so relieved that Pansy is feeling better! I'm having a similar problem with my guinea. The vet has me giving him some infant gas drops for the bloat and it seems to help. I've given him about 1/3 of what you would give an infant. Mine is coming around also, but it's been 4-5 days! I think the drops help. It's good to keep a bottle on hand! We're happy Pansy is eating again! Hugs and kisses to Pansy! :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:
