Bee passed yesterday as you all know, now some of my other guineas are acting out of character.

Boris: has gained a healthy amount of weight, is eating drinking and popping. But is restless and is nibbiling me which he's never done, he's also trying to hide a lot.

Ben: I think he may be over heating

Genga: Genga was Bee's cage mate and I am especially worried about as I'm not sure if Bee's condition was catching, but Genga has been nipping me all day.

Maybe, jerry keeps squeaking. I'm scared he's trying to tell me he's sad... or dying.... I don't want him to die. He's also been eating the pillow which I don't think can be too good for him?

oh gosh, i have read before that people say their pigs get out of sorts when they lose a beloved one, hope thats all it is sweet x

just keep your eye on him hon, see if you can tell if hes sqeaking at certain times, like when he pees etc

Hes stopped now :/ It's just that Bee went down hill so quickly and went so quickly.

he's started again... do guineapigs make little squeaks when they're happy? I'm not even touching him.... :'(

the vet said it was like a respitory problem, chest. We tried treating with anti biotics but his condition worsened.

i'm just uploading two vids to photo bucket xx

Apparently I'm not because I can't find the cable,OH has just popped out he'll know where it is xx

also, I've just cleaned all of them out, and noticed that boris and Ben, one of them is making really long poopies, is this a stupid thing to be worried aout xx

Okay, he's popping now...

i think he may be associating being handled with having his ear mite treatment. We're taking him to the vets tomorrow and if they give him a clean bill of health I think that's a possible cause.

Love you all, I'm so sorry xx?/

I answered your texts at the time Lexy, and I just wanted to say here as well for anyone else with similar worries after a loss, it is totally normal to feel "paranoid" about piggies after a loss. It is also normal for the others pigs to sense that there has been a loss even when the lost pig was not a part of the other pigs lives.

What I advised Lexy is that she put her mind at rest by checking that all pigs were eating, pooping and were not sitting puffed up, and then to get some sleep and see how she felt in the morning. There is a chance that one of the pigs could have been showing concerning symptoms, but when grief is playing a part, it is very easy to be concerned about anything at all that is out of the ordinary with the remaining pigs. So by checking the vital signs, as it were, of the pigs, and seeing that they were ok in those key areas, a decision about whether there is anything concerning can be made at a slightly later time.
