a few weeks ago i noticed one of my pigs had a small bald spot on his nose, i was told to keep an eye on it, within a week it was gone so i presumed it was a bite that had healed.
now ive been away for a few weeks, had a friend come in to feed and clean out piggies. she told me theres something wrong with Titch, he's going bald...so i dashed to see them as soon as i got back.
Titch sure is looking bald...not a single hair underneath, bald patch on his jaw, head and legs are bald. Rex also has a large bald patch on his side, as do a female and another male (all the boars live together, the girls live seperatly)
the skin underneath is not red, but does look flaky, when you hold titch the hair just kinda falls out if he wriggles!
i want to try the gorgeousguinea lotions but am unsure what to go for? do you think it sounds fungal more than parasitic? would a fungal infection spread so fast? what are the causes?

It could be both mites and fungal. I have one guinea who suffers with a fungal condition regularly. I always treat him for mites using xeno 450 and fungal using GG Manuka and Neem shampoo. I also use lavender and myrhh lotion on him. This always works well for him. Here is a link for xeno 450. Seems to be the cheapest place to buy it from.

It would seem to be fungal. You could try putting Daktarin Oral Gel around the area 3-4 times a day for a couple of weeks.

When my piggy had fungal i was told to use canastan cream on her 3-4 times a day. You can also get a anti fungal spray from P@H.
