I bought some parsley yesterday as a treat for the piggies (I've never given it to them before) and to be honest I have no idea how often I should give it to them or how much I should give them! Any ideas? :tu:

Parsley is high in calcium so only feed a little as a treat every so often. My lot absolutely love parsley but they don't get it very much cos of the high calcium content. Have you tried coriander? Mine turned their noses up at it at first now they absolutely fall on it and it lasts all of about 3 minutes with 5 of them attacking it!

No I haven't tried coriander. I will have to buy some next week, when I go shopping! :))

Here is a useful guide to feeding piggies and keeping a balanced diet. Long Term Balanced General And Special Needs Guinea Pig Diet

Parsley is loved by my piggies but it is only given about once a month here, especially now thst one of my girls has had a stone. Mine tend to have Coriander most days and love it.

Yesterday I cooked a curry in slow cooker. We love corriander to garnish our curry, but not as much as our 3 girls. I’m sure they can smell it 2 rooms away,Heidi especially....

Patchy and Coco love coriander (I can't stand it) and parsley. They also love dill, mint and basil but only for a occasional treat. I feed coriander most days.

If I give my lot mint they think I am poisoning them! Not tried dill or basil yet. They adore parsley and coriander!:drool:
