Patch - Weightloss

Patch is still doing well but his breathing isn't quite right yet. Debbie has got some more Zith'romax for him. Hopefully this will clear it but if not, Simon is going to do some x-rays.

I'm missing my boys but I know Patch is in the best of hands (and the boys are probably loving all the pampering they'll be getting!).
 
Unfortunately Patch has taken a turn for the worse and has gone rapidly downhill today. His breathing is bad and he's been having problems with choking. Both myself and Debbie are very concerned and fear this may be the end of the road.

We are going to see how he gets on over night and then make a decision in the morning.

To say I'm very upset is an understatement 8...

oh girls, I'm so sorry, i really thought Patch had made it and was out of danger.

Patch has made some improvement overnight, and has been eating some cucumber and grass this morning. His breathing is still bad but he is brighter in himself. I am feeding him little and often with syringe food and so far he has been able to take about 10 mls without choking. Yesterday he was choking just on his own saliva and it was impossible to syringe feed him. I feel the prognosis is still poor but he's definitely brighter today.
 
Unfortunately we lost him last night.

Simon discovered a blockage in his throat yesterday whilst Patch was sedated for xrays and ultrasounds. He operated to open his throat up and whilst Patch came round from it and made it home with Debbie, he was in a very bad way. He slipped away very quickly and peacefully.

I'm absolutely devastated but I know we did everything we could 8...
 
Although he wasn't mine, Patch had become very important and special to me over the weeks he had been here, and I am also so upset that we have lost him. He was such a fighter! Sadly this was always going to be one huge battle and was just too much for him.

He slipped away very peacefully last night and his cagemate, Sneezy, had time to say goodbye to him.

Sending love and hugs to you, Cat! I know how awful it must be for you not to have been here with him, but something very positive has come from this, in that I feel I have made a lovely new friend x

I'm so so sorry to hear this sad news - he was a gorgeous little man & I am glad that I met him. Hugs to you Cat & Debbie too, sleep well little man, cuddles to Sneezy too x
 
I'm SO very sorry to hear about Patch, run free over the rainbow bridge brave little piggy and lots of sympathy vibes being sent to you as well. 8...
 
Very sorry to hear little Patch didn't make it. What a little fighter, though! At least he's not in any pain now - he'll be wheeking and popcorning in some tasty meadow somewhere. Deepest sympathies x
 
So sorry Cat...... he really became another of the forum's little ones that you just kept an eye on..... always willing him to get better.........
