I would be inclined to think about the pros and cons of removing the abscess now.
Maybe discuss the options with your vet.
When Jemimah had her abscess removed she recovered very quickly but it was on her back.
When she went for surgery the vet discovered she had fast growing ovarian cysts so she was spayed as well and came home with 2 impressive scars.

It’s probably the size of a malteaser now He’s lost a tiny amount of weight (less than 50g)

Lost 40g overnight

I’ve started pain meds this morning and will be offering critical care.

Hopefully once this lump is removed he will have no more problems
