When I went to bed lastnight I turned off the lights and I was just about to go to dream land when I heard an odd noise it took me a minute or so too recognise it. It went for longer and became more urgent. I got up and turned on the light, when I got over to the cage to have the look the noise although still there was a bit quieter took me a minute or two too identified the pig but it is Patrick and most certainly a pain noise although he's not made it sense!

Poor Patrick :(

Could you tell if he was weeing/pooing whilst making the noise? I know you've had a few bouts of painful peeing, with your pigs, was it the same kind of noise that you heard then?

Hope you manage to find out what's wrong. Good luck at the Vets x

I must apologise for my bad spelling, its so difficult reading my comments back, with such a small screen.

A sad, high pitched pain noise like crying. I always call it crying but its a high sound and obviously a squeak.

I hope everything goes ok for little Patrick! :) xxxxxxxxxxxxx

OH no, not my lovely boy. Hope all is well - please keep us posted.

Yes Missy, I have had awful problems with my pigs and crying he was passing a pellet when I saw him but originally I think he was passing urine too. I'm going to request they X-ray him so we can rule out stones!

I hope Patrick's vet visit went well, good idea to request an x-ray, I hope it is clear and puts your mind at rest a bit.

The vet didn't even get a chance to feel Patrick's bladder, she touched it and he was in noticable pain. She immediately said he has one sore bladder, hes going in for an Xray on Monday!

They said they won't use GA! Infact she acted like it was quite common not too. She said it would be down to the vet doing it, but she wouldn't use a GA. She then went away and asked the Vet Nurses who said they would try and do it without GA.

Fingers crossed!

Good luck for Monday! I'm sure that he will be in safe hands and glad that they are going to try and do an xray without a GA.

Is Pebbles going with him too for company?

Fingers crossed for poor Patrick! I hope that you are allowed to bring Pebbles, too, to hold his paw, so to speak.

Oh poor Patrick :(

Very best of luck for Monday. I hope they find what is causing him trouble and it is easily treatable xx

Awwww Patrick Patrick Patrick! What are we going to do with you matey? When an eventful weekend you are having :( Hope Monday goes well xx

I didn't ask, but she is going. I wouldn't leave him at the vets for the day without his wife! xx

Best of luck for Monday, I hope his x-ray is clear. Is he on any pain relief for now, given the vet found he is so sore? xx

No, he's not as he is still eating and pottering. It was when she went to feel his bladder he flinched and almost jumped out her hands!

One of my piggies has had an xray done without any anaesthetic so it can be done, our vets just used sandbags to keep her in place.

Poor little thing, let us know how he get's on on Monday x
