This morning at the weekly check, I noticed that Patsy had a runny nose. The mucus is clear and there was only little dribble of it. I didn't notice it last night when I took her out for her foot spa treatment. She is still eating, running around, playing quite happily with Meg and Betsy and pooping loads. I'll be phoning the vet at 9am If it is a URI at least I'll have caught it quickly. I'll let you know what the vet says.

We are all keeping everything crossed here!
Hope all goes well at the appointment x

Poor little lady, sending lots of healing vibes and hugs. She's in the best hands!

Patsy saw Aunty Chloe today who said she was a little bit crackly and has put her on a 10 day course of Sulfatrim. Chloe also said that I was to stop the foot spas for her bumblefoot and just wipe the soles of Patsy's feet with salt water and cotton wool if I felt she needed it. Patsy only has a couple of days more of foot spas anyway so I may just leave that and see if her feet heal up.

Poor Patsy! I used to keep some baby wipes handy for Odin's feet for a quick wipe over here and there too (but he didn't have any sores at that point - it was more preventative).

I really hope she starts to improve on the Sulfatrim (I've always found they tolerate that antibiotic better than some of the others). The boys and I are sending lots of love and healing vibes!
Well done for being such a brilliant owner and getting her seen so quickly 💗

Did you have the pure water wipes or something different?
Yes the water ones, un-fragranced with minimal additives etc. I just kept them to hand so that when I had him out of the cage for medicines etc I could give them a quick wipe over. I didn't have to do it much in the end once they had cleared up (it was probably just me worrying too much and wiping them anyway to prevent any return of the sores). He was so used to it in the end, that I swear he used to hold his feet up ready 😂

All the best for a good recovery. Glad that it is not one of the nasty left-field issues causing the runny nose like a tooth growing the wrong way!

That's what I was hoping it wasn't! There are so many issues that start with at runny nose. It's the first time I'm ever seen her with a runny nose so I just hope it clears up quickly with the Sulfatrim. The vet said that if I was at all concerned that it was getting worse to take her back in immediately.

Get well soon Patsy. I found that a thin layer of Sudocrem worked a treat on Hazels sore feet. xx
I have some F10 Barrier Cream here that the vet said I could put on Patsy's feet. My vet preferred it to Sudocrem and I remember your vet said the other way round. Funny how opinions differ.

Aww get well soon Patsy, wishing her a speedy recovery! ❤️

Veterinary option seems to differ on so many things piggy related. However, she did say that in her opinion Sudocrem was longer lasting. As I haven't used the F10 cream I don't have anything to compare it to As long as it works I guess it doesn't matter which one is used.😃♥️

I do hope Patsy .is feeling better soon. She really has had such a difficult time recently.xx

Poor little Patsy.
Well done catching it so quickly.
Hope the meds work quickly and she’s all better soon.

After 9 days Sulfatrim Patsy no longer has a runny nose and is much brighter. I'm taking her back to see the vet on Thursday just to make sure that all the URI has cleared up. Chloe (Vet) said I only needed to take her back if I felt that she was no better. Bearing in mind what happened to my Cutey Pie Dennis (RIP) 5 months ago, I want to make sure that Patsy's URI has completely cleared up.

Here is Patsy just because she is so pretty.

Well done Patsy! (and slave) 💗 We are all so happy (the boys and I) to hear that she is feeling much better! I'm the same, would have the check up anyway (for peace of mind) 🥰
