In my Guinea Pig's shed mainly! LOL
Hello,
I am aware this is a relativity common subject, I suppose, so therefore if you could just re-direct me to another thread/webpage where to help my asses whether or not my piggie has pea eye or not, that would be great, thanks.

However, if you'd be so kind as to post a response right now, then this is what her eye looks like (I know pictures would be better, but I don't have any at the moment);
It started off as her right bottom eye lid drooping a bit, and a white liquid like substance forming at the bottom - now this was a few months ago, if not more. I gave her some Brolene eye drops which I have used to treat other eye infections such as hay poke, and they cleared up - however nothing changed. I continued to monitor it, and as she showed no distress, comfort or any changing of behavior, I just left it. Although, over the past few months it has slowly changed so that she now has a minor pink lump on the bottom left corner of her eye (in the white fluid place, not on her actual eye ball). I have searched images of pea eye and it looks similar - however not all Guinea Pig's are the same and I couldn't quite find a clear/accurate picture. Again, she seems to be her regular self, or else I would have whisked her to the vets straight away. I just want to ensure that she is in no potential harm. I'll post pictures asa I can. Thank you all !

Oh, and btw, she is 2 and a half years old, and is probably at target weight, if not a little under, yet she has always been this way and is certainly not disinterested in food.

Hopefully it is pea eye, but please get her seen by a bet just to rule out anything else out to be on the safe side. It'll give you peace of mind also. Let us know how your little one gets on.

Hi
I have noticed this morning that one of my guineas has slightly bulging eyes, where the white seems to spill out over the edge of the lower lid! - I think it may be pea/ fatty eye.
I noticed it slightly a while ago, on one eye, but it was only very slight - it now is more pronounced and in Both eyes.
She (Hazel) seems her usual self in every other way, and not bothered by it. - there is no sign of infection or soreness, so wonder if anything needs to be done!? - Vet will probably want to do all sorts of tests, meds etc ..... :-/

Hi Guinea Pig Parent,

Welcome to the forum. It is always best to get eyes checked out at the vets as the can be a variety of different causes, so really you need to err on the safe side. Hopefully it will be nothing to worry about.
