pea size lump

my guinea pig Teddy has a lump under his skin its not attached to his body.I am keeping an eye on it ,it isnt growing so far. Your opinions please.He is 4 and a half years old and otherwise healthy.
 
Whereabouts is the lump? What is the size?
It could be a fibroma or a lipoma or a sebaceous cyst, all of which are harmless.
It is unlikely to be an abscess.
 
If it remains the same size, leave well alone, or have it looked at but the fact there is a lump is not a reason in itself to have it removed.
 
i am not going to do anything just observe and if i have any concerns i will see the vet. no ops unless absolutely necessary.
