Today I noticed that Peanut's eye is a bit crusty and isn't as wide as her other one. I had a look at the thread explaining when your pig should see a vet and it seems like it's not something that needs immediate attention. But I'm just a bit worried because the vets closest to me isn't open today and the neatest emergency vet is miles away and I don't have my own transport. I couldn't take a picture because she hates being picked up and I didn't wanna stress her out. I'm making an appointment for tomorrow (hopefully if they have any) I just wanna know if anyone has ever experienced any eye problem with their pig and how much it was to treat it (I know it'll be different with different vets but just want a rough guess) and just anything you can tell me please?! Thank you
I guess I should add that she is acting fine in herself, she's eating and drinking and seems happy

If they are open, try gizzy's link (and ask for their fees, as I know that my local PDSa shares the facilities with acurrently very expensive out-of-hours service, otherwise have you piggy seen asap tomorrow. It can be an eye injury, infection or a respiratory infection.

try the lvybtidge p.d.s.a. there are tranie ,vets closly monitored by qualifeid vets, they are very good, and the p.d.s.a only askes that you make a donation !

Thank you both. If I could afford the out of hours vets I would have taken her today but money is a bit tight at the moment, especially with Christmas coming up :/ my vets open at 8am so I'll ring then and try to get them to see her during the evening as I'm at work tomorrow during the day

HAVE you enquired after the prices at the PDSA link that @gizzy has given you and made sure whether they are too expensive? There are cheaper out-of-hours service around, but you need to ring around to see whether you have got one within your reach!
The sooner you can get her seen, the better; this is not an issue to dawdle over!
 
Most of the time the vet will look for a scuff on the eye surface which might indicate a hay poke injury. If nothing show then it is possible she has an eye infection which they might give you Fucithalmic drops or ointment to use (ointment is better IMO, but that's just my opinion!) to help clear it. Is she wheezy or sneezy? Like Wiebke says, that could indicate a respiratory tract infection along with the eye thing :(

No she's not wheezy, she's really happy it's just a bit of crust around her eye. She's got an appointment for tomorrow evening so hopefully all will be fine
 
Peanut had her vets appointment today and it wasn't an eye infection it's a skin infection that's around her eye and making it swell. The vet said that she has caused the crustiness herself by scratching at what was originally a small scratch by her eye. So glad it isn't something more serious
