I have Pearl a little check up today.

She has brown skin all over, not pink. This has been there awhile, maybe her whole life. I didn’t write it down, though, so I don’t know how long it has been that way. Is this normal? She also has a bit of brown on her ear, which Zip has been licking (a sign of gentle dominance). Does the licking have anything to do with this?

I tried to take a picture of her skin, but she’s too fidgety and bitey! I did get a picture of her ear, though.

I'm not sure what you mean. Piggies skin tends to be similar in colour to their fur. If you look at skinny piggies you can see that their skin is various different colours. If her skin has changed colour I would see a vet in case it's some sort of infection, but if you think it's always been like that, then it's probably just her colour.

The brown on the ear is totally normal in the photo. I would imagine the brown skin is just the pigment. Our tricolour piggy had brown skin all over so did our agouti.

Okay. I just read somewhere that their skin should be pink. The author probably only had pink-skinned piggies, I guess.

Thank you!
