Yay! Sounds like they're on the mend, you've done a good job and your vet sounds great too! He's all the way over on the other side of Glasgow to me though. I use Mr Lawrie in Cumbernauld and am very happy with him but he's not always there, so I'm always on the look out for nearer alternatives in case of emergencies! I'd like someone more local as I don't drive and can't always rely on my hubby to be around if the piggers get sick.

Oh Joanne - we're having a right time of it lately.

So sorry she still isnt right.

What now?

Xray... I guess. In all honesty I don't know. I really don't want to leave her at the vet and hoping, praying they don't insist on a GA.

Whats the difference btw the gas and a GA I know it's the same thing but one is administered by a mask.

Your vet can give a tiny bit of gas just to make them a bit spaced but not out of it.

My vet used a tiny bit on Dolly when she had her xray. He said she just had a 'sniff' of gas. If it means a good clear xray quickly then it's not so bad IMO.

Sorry this is still going on Joanne, these UTIs can be so stubborn! The fact that both girlies are squeaking still says to me chronic inflammation and mighty tough bacterial infection, as opposed to stones - but worth checking that out anyway.

GA would be a gas anyway, so a whiff of (GA) gas should just give a very short-term sedative effect, as opposed to knocking the pig out.

Do you think both girls can go in the same box to the vet? I only have one box, what am I ment to do now. Just get more med's?

Are you going by car? I once used a washing basket when I couldn't find our carrier in a hurry. If it's a short car journey then you can just peg/clip a towel or piece fleece over the top so they feel safer. With holes in the sides they'll get plenty of air. Or a thick cardboard box would be fine for a short trip, lined with an old towel.

Really sorry that this is still lingering. It can take ages, I know. Good luck x

We're going to have to go by Taxi as my mum and dad are away this weekend, I'll need to find something or just take the one pig I don't know what to do.

I'll ask the vet tomorrow, on the phone I guess.

Sorry your girls don't seem to have shaken this off. Don't know what to suggest about the girls going together. Hope it all goes ok. If you weren't quite such a long way away I'd come and take you myself.
Hugs. x

Dilema over.

I have sat with each girl for roughly an hour each, Wilma produced roughly 4 wee's and no squeaks, Pebbles 3 and no squeaks. I can only presume my paranoia drove me to think they were still squeaking, 100% no squeaks :D!

I'm so relieved!

How's the girlies today? sending loving and healing wheeeeeeeeeeks from us all xx>>>xx>>>xx>>>xx>>>xx>>>
No more squeeeeeeeaaaaks whee hope :{

I'm glad that the girls are feeling better now, just keep an eye on them both and then if you have any worries give the vet a call. I'm sure you will be doing this already as i know how devoted we all are to our pigs.

I spoke to my vet the other day and they have given me a 100ml bottle of septrin just incase i ever need any! All looking good here too, just got to keep an eye and having a re check at the end of the month. :)

It just looks like she is being noisy to me but I could be wrong. When Connie was in pain, you can actually hear her whimpering and it sounded really different to her 'normal' squeaks.
