Pee-post Training

We have a one year old dog (Charlie) who occasionally wees in the back garden. I said to my Dad that we should train him from the start to pee in one specific place, but he didn't listen! Now Charlie pees anywhere, which is not good as the Piggies are hoping to go out on the grass soon! I've been trying to train him with a pee post but am not having much success...any tips?

Could you fence off an area for the guinea pigs? Fresh dog pee can (and has) killed guinea pigs.

This is what I'm worried about! I don't want to put the pigs on the grass until I know it's safe.

It would be difficult to fence off the garden, it's quite small. I could put the runs down in advance, which would keep Charlie off, but I don't know how long it takes for the grass to become 'safe' again to eat.
