Junior Guinea Pig
Hi All,
A few weeks ago i noticed that there was orange pee in my guinea pigs enclosure. I monitored it and took her to the vets assuming bladder infection/stones. An xray was done which was clear and i was given bayril and metacam. I am now on the last dregs of these (been administering them for 10 days) and no difference. A key thing to say is that the urine comes out looking completely normal and THEN turns orange after several secands/minutes. Might this suggest the orange ISNT blood? Surely if it was blood the urine would come out coloured? They aren't eating anything red that could be doing it and her cage mate's pee is normal. Any ideas what might be happening? Obviously i will go back to the vets if it continues etc. A couple of days after i started the meds i rushed her to the vets again as she had stopped walking and just lay in a heap. She appeared to be dragging herself by her front legs if highly motivated to move. VERY unnerving but after a couple of days she started walking normally again and is now back to behaving and eating fine.
Thanks
