Hi everyone!
Ok, pellets question! I read on my piggies pellets bag (Science Selective) to feed 40-50 gr of pellets PER PIG daily... But many ppl say to give only 1/8 cup per pig. Right, I dont have a 1/8 cup so I used a 1/4 cup (for 2 pigs) but the amount of pellets is clearly less than what the instructions on the bag said! Am I using a wrong cup? Or it depends on the size of my pellets? Can someone tell me how much is in grams 1/8 cup? I'm not used to this kind of measures and I'm getting confused! I'll post a pic of my 1/4 cup of pellets... Is it enough? I can't check they eat the same quantity because my boys live together in the same cage...
Thanks for your help!

I have a 1/8 of a cup measuring cup and it weighs 16gms using oxbow cavy cuisine which are small pellets. So I would say about 15gms is 1/8 of a cup. I give my piggies 1/8 of a cup in the morning and 1/8 of a cup at night because they like to share the same bowl and that way they are more or less getting 1/8 of a cup each daily. It looks like a miserable amount but I find it's enough for them with none left over, anymore and they struggle to eat them.

The amount you're giving looks right. I think pellet bags assume you are only giving pellets and nothig else, so they always recommend a lot more than you should really give.
10-20g per pig daily is more than adequate.

Eli eats more veggies and hay than he does pellets but he does eat a bit each day. I think right now his teeth are still sensitive from his T float surgery a week ago.

I think the problem is the Science Selective are "bulky" if compared to Oxbow etc. So using cups to measure doesn't work. I bought a grams scale and I'm giving my piggies 60gr daily (30gr each more or less). I live the pellets in the cage until they are over, and sometimes it requires 2 days for my boys to eat them all... I dont want overfeed them but definetely using cups doesn't work with my pellets!
Thanks everyone for your help!
