i feed my guinea pigs burgess excel guinea pig pellets and my guinea pigs don't seem to like them anymore? dose anyone know of any decent pellets that they might prefere? :ple:

Pellets are not needed if they are eating veg and grass daily. However if you do choose to feed them, then 1 tablespoon a day per pig it should only make up 5% of their diet. Most pet shops will tell you to feed unlimited pellets with hay and offer veg as a treat but pellets are just full of junk and the vitamin C is almost nil by the time the pig gets to eat the pellets.

Mine were on science selective and my rabbits are on the bunny version :)

Burgess is one of the few nuggets my lot really dont like! Ours get a mix or rotation of (depending on whats easiest to get or on offer) Versele laga complete cavia, grainfree science selective, rosewood naturals meadow menu, harringtons and the lavender woodlands pellets at pets at home.

I use pellets as more of an enrichment item than an actual meal, I throw a pile of treat hay or forage in and put their pellets in the pile for them to dig out. When I used to give it in bowls they werent all that fussed about them and spent more time peeing on them than eating them XD
