Hi everyone!

I was just wondering what brand of pellets do you all use? For my two baby boars I bought the Harrington’s brand and they absolutely love it. At the moment I am giving them two tablespoons (per guinea pig in their bowls) and by the time I go to bed it’s empty so I tend to just give a tablespoon each before I go to bed. However, the only downside is that this brand is quite expensive but the bag is massive and should last a couple of months. I am just curious what other people use x

Which brand you use is entirely up to you, your budget and the piggies taste. I attach the nugget comparison chart for your information. Nugget Comparison Chart
I use burgess excel.

Pellets are purely supplementary, so don’t overfeed them or top up empty bowls. 2 Tablespoons per pig per day is fine for babies until 4 months old but after that it is one tablespoon per pig per day.
My boys get one tablespoon of pellets per pig in the morning and then after about an hour the food bowls get removed (even if there are still pellets in the bowl) and they don’t get given them back until the next day at pellet time (unless I’ve sprinkled pellets in which case I will remove any uneaten pellets from the floor after that hour and throw away).

How much is an average weight for a guinea pig?

The 10kg Harrington’s should last a while. The last one I bought has lasted about 5 months for four piggies.
