Pellets?

How often should you feed guinea pigs pellets?
I give mine a small bowl everyday, along with 2 lots of veg morning and evening usually.
Ive read that it is not necessary to give them pellets everyday?

Where do * all stand on this, and what do * do with your piggies?

My piggies get two small handfuls between them once a day with plenty of veg and hay and 1 large handful of just grass

everyone does this differently. Mine gets a small handful of oxbow scattered over the cage a few times a week. In three months they've eaten about 800 gram, so it's really just a tiny treat rather than nutrition, but mine were not used to pellets either when I got them.

I give two handfuls in the morning and two handfuls in the evening between my eight guinea pigs, but I am trying to reduce it further.

People thinks different ways on this. You are giving them lots of veg and that's brilliant. What hay do they get? Is that unlimited?

I believe as long as they aren't losing weight and are healthy and you provide unlimited hay and twice daily veg then pellets aren't a necessity.

I am going to carry on feeding mine pellets as they like them, I like to be 100% sure about vitamin / fibre content and it's something I want to do. But people do different things.

Yes, they get unlimited hay.
I have noticed that they arent bothering with the pellets as much, as when i fill their hay bins and food bowls the bowls arent touched.

I think i will gradually cut the pellets out further.
