I got my 2 piggies a little over 2 years ago...I was on this forum all the time back then as a worried new pig mom. Then for a long time I couldn't log on. Then a few days ago I tried again and it worked!

So if you remember me...here is the update.

Penny and Honeybee still live together here in my office in their C&C cage.

Honeybee is still the dominant one of the two in terms of Piggie dynamics, and Penny is the dominant one in terms of human interaction. Honeybee never came out of her shell, she lives her life in fear...she will take food from my hand but I have never been able to pet her. When I hold her she freezes in fear for a long long time. It is a life lesson I think...there is absolutely no reason for her to be so scared all the time...I've had her over 2 years...never hurt her, don't have loud kids or dogs or anything...it is just her personality...her instinct...to be scared. But I lover her because she is sweet and innocent and lovely just the same. She makes me think about the ways I might be scared in my own life for no real reason....like I said, a life lesson...good thing she didn't go to live with someone who would have stressed her out...like a classroom!

Penny however is my little buddy, and she is so funny and interactive, and she would eat constantly if she could, and she eats fast, and she always begs for more, and she lets me pet her, and she is a little darling. She isn't very smart, if she drops food she doesn't even know to look down for it...but she is funny and I love her. She likes to spray pee in Honeybee's face when she rumbles at her, so her butt still has issues with being damp and it really isn't a very attractive thing to do, to pee in your cagemate's face...she is such a little diva!

The girls never cuddle with each other...which is sort of sad...they are more like roommates than really good friends...

They are getting close to 3 years old so I'm thinking that in the fall I'll expand their cage by another 2x2 or 2x3 panels and then keep my eye open for a new young cage mate...I don't want one of the girls to pass and leave the other alone...I think I should have a third so that doesn't happen...

I have a friend who is the director of a animal protective agency, so I have told him to watch for a young girl guinea to come in sometime after the first of the year (I know, I'm planning ahead)...and I already have a nice cage for a new girl to spend her quarantine period...we don't have guinea specific rescues around here...but there are plenty that go through the system...

Lovely to see you back on the forum, sorry you couldn't log on we have had a few issues with the forum late last year but under the care our Falken we are back and better than ever :)

Thanks for the update on your girlies. Be lovely to see some pigtures of them :)

Aww Honeybee sounds shy like my Shereen. Penny and Honeybee sound so sweet and it was nice to hear how they have been getting along.
