Adult Guinea Pig
I was in the mood to write about Penny's story and then I thought, "the forum would be a great place for piggy lovers to read!" 
When I saw her for the first time at the shelter she was hiding in the corner trying to stay away from everything. I was contemplating either adopting her or another one that was more active. There was something about Penny that made me fall in love! I think it was her beautiful eyes
I adopted her that day and I have no regrets. Penny was part of a hoarding situation and I can't even imagine what she went through the past year of her life. After I adopted her, she was super shy for 2 months and I thought it would just be her personality. But then (sadly after Nickel passed away) she came out of her shell and started opening up to my family and I. Within a week she was totally a different pig. I asked my dad, "Is this the same pig?" She was happy, running around, taking food from me, and allowing me to pet her.
I look at her today and think, "We rescued each other." Words can't express how much I love Penny.
