Junior Guinea Pig
Hi everyone, just wanted to come on and say a big thank you for listening and for your kind words last week. To come home from an amazing holiday to the USA and then have your piggy face surgery was hard going.
But thankfully Peppa is doing so well
We've been back to the vets for daily check ups and she's doing great. The duty vet wanted to see her Sat & Sun evening(only charging me for the medicine) and was pleased with how she was doing. He's been giving her injections to keep her gut moving and last night she had maintained her weight, only losing 25g altogether since surgery.
She's cottoned on now with having medicine so it's a little hard to give her Baytril & Metacam twice a day but it's a good sign she's being a little cheeky and trying to escape even when wrapped in a towel!
Her cagemage is being a bit of a minx and showing dominance behaviour, but Peppa is fighting back and showing she's still boss.
I've been feeding her little and often with veggies, and she's been drinking water and eating pellets and hay herself. She's happily trotting about the run and trying to climb the bars. It's lovely to see my cheeky little piggy back albeit with a new shaven hair do and some stitches.
Am at work all day today but hopefully she is continuing to get better
