So I have noticed that whenever I play music in the flat Pepper goes and hides under the bath mat that is draped over the ramp to the loft and sort of grumbles and vibrates. Does this mean the music is scaring him and he really doesn't like it?
I am not playing it really loud and its often not even in the living room but it happens every time! He is the more confident piggie so I find it odd it bothers him and not Pringle.
Is there a way to make him more comfortable with it? (he is around 10 Months old)
Thanks!

I always found with music they didn't mind something like any rock music, but something less...bass heavy? Like pop music, for example - that would get me told off.

He may get used to it if you play it enough, but sounds like he just doesn’t like it. My piggies (when they lived inside) hated the sounds on the children’s education apps. Every ping would bring forth 3-4 rumbles of displeasure. I just asked them to turn the volume down and sit in the sitting room. They never got used to it, but the children needed to do their work 🤷🏾‍♀️

It’s so strange that it’s music that he doesn’t like, he is fine with the TV, hoover and general kitchen noises, I might see if I can get him used to it with the help of some lettuce and chin strokes!

I've said this before but gannet noises used to make Blitzen really grumpy. The noises that bother them and the noises that don't always vary from pig to pig - Jake used to demand to join in on phonecalls for example, and didn't give a stuff about barking dogs either. Comet and Blitzen both had no issue with fireworks but didn't like pop music. And sometimes it's like jangling keys - they'll learn to ignore it.

Just another thing that’s makes them more unique!

Like my Jasper who was popcorning round the bed not long ago with me singing to him, watching TV and then trying to pinch my fish and chips that turned up early so had to be distracted with munch!? :)) :)) Definitely a unique boy! :))

Funny little Pepper :))

Aww. All 3 of mine hate it if I sneeze. One sneeze has all 3 of them rumble strutting at me... quite the laugh really

Betty grumbles at the sound of a ringing phone on the tv, window blinds being very slowly and gently put up or down, sneezing (I try to do it so quietly sometimes I think my eyeballs will fall out), and sounds like coughing or sighing.

She’s fine with the TV and people talking, in fact the more she can hear different voices the more she wheeks and comes out to say hello/ask for food.

Even though it can be quite loud, she’s totally okay with the sound of Tupperware boxes containing food being snapped open. Funny that...
