i just read that people give there pigs peppers, how much do you give them of it?

ive never given my pigs pepper before!... now i feel like a bad piggy owner :( what else can you give pigs that you wouldnt normally think you could give them?
 
mine dont like peppers :/ but when ive tried before they've had a quarter each - obviously remove seeds and cut the stem off.
 
ive just come up some veg (including peppers this time) and lets hope they like it :)
 
Mine love peppers and get them 2 or 3 times a week - have to say though they do prefer red/ yellow/ and orange - not so keen on the green :)

I think I must have either exceptionally unfussy piggies as they'll eat anything and everything or just very greedy piggies that they are that busy scoffing they haven't noticed what they're eating:red
Seriously they will eat anything and everything including fingers they always nibble fingers and they think it's food time lol.
 
lol mine are fairly unfussing although they won't touch the peas in a pod until you've left them in the cage for a few hours after they've run out of other veg... then they will have a little :))
 
oh mine are soooo fussy, ungrateful so and so's, supposedly they were kept stuck out in a little hutch in a shed and totally uncared for before I had them- yet they still turn their nose up at so much stuff, they only eat stuff that is really fresh and won't eat cucumber, fruit, peppers, tomatoes, sprouts and loads of other things they've had- even with the veg they do like, if they've had it already that day they might not bother, currently they're in the run with green beans, cabbage and carrots which they've not bothered with, yet I just gave them a handful of some stir fry mix that I'd just bought for tea and they polished it off instantly!

mine epecially like fingers :S they must taste nice lol

Mine actually seem to prefer the stem to the pepper. I discovered that when I had a curly stem and used it to hang the pepper on the bars so they had to think how to get it. Rosie pulled it down, ate the stem and left the rest.
 
Mine like peppers- but red peppers give my White faced pig a red nose! Was a bit worrying the first time, before I realised what it was!
 
aww my olly (whos over the rainbow bridge) done that with a tomatoe n i thought he was bleeding lol
 
I give the stem and seeds after cutting the flesh off to cook with. They do get whole peppers as well, mind. Personally I love the loud scronching noise they can make with a whole pepper - it is a bit like a drum and the sound is magnified!
