So, I read that green peppers are one of the best things you can feed your piggies- high in vit C and low in sugar- and it's something we normally have in so I thought 'great!' However, my little lads won't touch them! I left them in the cage for a while and they didn't touch them! I've tried them with red pepper too- not quite as good as green but still good - and they turned their noses up at that too! Funny how the pair of them dislike the same things as neither of them liked asparagus either. They are funny though, they 'wheek' every time they hear the fridge door opening!

Ours only started eating any peppers during the winter months. They went from never touching them to now eating all colours readily - second favourite only to herbs.

Piggies are fussy eaters aren't they! My two turn their noses up at some foods for a few days.
Maybe pursue giving them to them? And once they realise that is what you want them to eat, they may play ball! Good luck.

Good idea, I will try again especially knowing how good they are for them

You can feed any colour of pepper. many piggies like red ones better because they are a bit sweeter. With many food it is just like getting kids to eat green veg - don't serve more than one new veg at once, keep it lying for some hours if it doesn;t get eaten, so the piggies get used to the smell and texture and repeat after a few days...
Here are our diet recommendation as to what you can feed how often and also our list of edible and inedible foods.

I've tried red too which they didn't ' teat either! But I will keep offering them and maybe they'll try them eventually!

Definitely keep trying, took my new girls a few try's before they realised how good they were!

Our pig wouldn't eat peppers for awhile, but then once we were also eating the peppers right next to him he must have felt left out and decided to eat them! What a silly pig...

Finally got mine to eat green pepper, going to try again with red and yellow in the next few days. Bella cried when I only gave her pepper the first time, she wheeked and wheeked until I gave her some Romano lettuce, such a demanding little pig!

Mine likes to eat red peppers he wasn't sure at first, thi is his list of foods i prepare for him, cucumber, celery, fresh dandelions, radish, curly kale, tomatoes, apples, sweet corn, cabbage, romaine lettuce, mange toute, he loves them but i vary it every day he is one spoilt piggie . I hope to get some more ideas of foods for him, he is going to vets tomorrow for neutering so he will be sore and i hope to get him a girlfriend when he is better. i love him to bits x

Ah that's sweet! Mine are so spoilt too! They are loving having freshly cut grass and dandelion leaves. Coriander, basil and parsley are some of their other favourites! I'll keep trying them with the pepper. They're not too keen on baby corn either! Fussy boys!

None of my boys would eat peppers - any colour! and then when my two new babys decieded they liked them - the other 4 not wanting to miss out suddenly found
that they too loved peppers - talk about being fickle!

My pigs get a variety of different veg cut up small every day. I tried them with green peppers recently and they all ate it. Maybe, mixed in with the rest, they didn't notice the new bits! I have found that if you offer something new, they will eat it after a few tries. :tu:

Yes my too wouldn't eat any colour pepper a few weeks bat but last week i gave them green pepper and they r still eating it now virtually every day! Mine also like basil, coriander and parsley too! Pear seems to be a fave fruit. But they love their green beans the most so much so that they fight over them, but they have 1 each twice a day! Also hubby gave them leaves off the raspberry canes yesterday and they were gone in an instant.

So far so good with my two. Since I got them 11 days ago they've had cabbage, carrot, apple, red pepper, green pepper, green beans, baby corn, parsley, cucumber, broccoli. They've tucked into all of it!

I remember having to get Buddy used to what veg was and I left a piece of pepper in his cage overnight, the next morning I noticed it had started to go wrinkly where I think the moisture was coming out of it, I was just considering chucking it when he decided that manky shrivelled veg was the right thing to eat :vom: piggies can be such strange creatures
