Pepsi has a swollen toe

my guinea pig, Pepsi has a swollen toe on his back foot. he is walking properly and isn't bothered by it. there is a bit of blood by the nail and the whole toe is swollen. is it anything to worry about? is there any way we can clean it? thank you. Pepsi_Maltesers_Teddy

Hi!

It sounds like your boy has ripped the nail off.
Please contact your vet is the bleeding is not stopping or coming back and the swelling is not going down and tracking up the toe/foot in the coming days. you may have to brace that the nail may grow back thickly or not at all.
It you are concerned, disinfect with home made saline solution (1 teaspoon of salt mixed into half a pint/250 ml of boiled, cooled water).

the nail hasn't come off it is just swollen below the toe but thank you for the help.
