Caught and cut 24 guinea pig nails in an hour and didn't even break into a sweat.Four of them hate being picked up but actually got cuddles once they had nails cut.The hour included cuddle time for each of them so probs half an hour for catch and cut.Either they are getting slower or I'm getting better at catching them. Was expecting major trauma to me and them but wasn't a problem.Fingers crossed this lasts

Oh wow! I have enough trouble just cutting Hazelnut's nails. Peanut Butter's nails I leave to the vet to do with his monthly dentals. The dog gets hers done at the groomers when she gets a haircut. I have to stuff Hazelnut with a long parsley stalk for every 2 nails I manage to cut. Otherwise he bites me when I attempt the front paws.

Well done! Practice works both ways - you getting quicker and the piggies less stressed with the experience...

After 6.5 years of owning guinea pigs and doing an animal nursing course, I still take my piggies to the vets to have their nails trimmed especially now that I have piggies with black nails and Eliza's nails are curling and growing in all directions :stu:

So well done you :)

I always thought guinea nails were hard until I had to do rat nails ... those beggars are even more slippery than guinea pigs! haha welld one :D

One of them already has curled nails and only 12 months old and some are black nailed.Used to do my rabbits so once you get hold of them piggies easier and don't try kicking you to hell
