I'm taking it as a wild one, you cant do much, get mouse proof mesh.

mice can get into tiny holes, you would never think they could what about a humane trap I think they are not as bad as rats who carry dieases, but it can be a pain if it starts having bubs you'll be over run,

oh no, nightmare,
I was looking at my p@h hutch yesterday,(sage house) and the mesh is quite large on them, was wondering if rats could get through? anyone else who has this hutch, or thistle hall could you put my mind at rest.

aww no, poor little piggies, I hope they are okay :) and I hope you get rid of your mousey problem, sorry I can't help more.

If you can fit a pencil through a hole a mouse can get through it. xx0

As Michelle has suggested trying putting out a humane trap to catch it and then free it somewhere, like a local park if you have one :)

haha, we have a mouse too, i got a photo of it the other week i think it's so cute :D We are going to put traps down as i don't know how many we have and if the neighbours find out we have mice they wont be happy!

Wow -- thank you all very much!

I think I will definitely look into one of those humane traps.

We do have a really big park near us which I'm sure it would love!

Thank you for all the advice =]

rats shouldnt get in the hutches but mice are a pain lol and if theres one theres a family of them near by,good luck with your mouse

Thank you all for your comments and advice! =]

But...

We caught the mouse!

We set up a box on a stick, with string attached to the stick, and we sat watching and pulled the string -- and caught it!

We then slid the box underneath the Guinea Pig run (of course no Guineas were in it!) and picked the box up!

We were SO happe we had caught it! But it was so scary. The poor thing was thrashing itself against the run walls - eek!

I took a couple of photos to show! I have to admit -- I felt so sorry for it. We were intending to take it to Tilgate Park -- a huge park near where we live, and set it free. The clever thing got away some how though -- we still have no idea how, we just walked away for less than a minute...in a way, I'm glad it got away, that way we didn't have to come up with a way to transport it to the park. We just hope we have made it think twice about coming near our Guinea hutch again!
