Went to a local pet store/garden center to buy some new wellies. Couldn't resist having a sneeky peak at the bunnies and guineas and wish I hadn't :( Lots of young, rather odd looking but clean healthy babies - pretty colours so I'm sure people will buy them.

However, in one cage were 3 pink eyed white boars with a sign saying' reduced to clear - all male pigs in this cage only £10 each' grrrr I know one of the chaps who works there quite well so made him a REALLY cheeky offer. He said he had paid £7 each for them and they had been there nearly 4 months - I made him an offer of less than a quarter of what he paid and he said yes xx>>>

I know it's not the correct thing to do - buying animals from pet shops but I couldn't stand the thought of these 3 poor chaps spending any longer in that small cage. They needed to be out of there so they can have much more room and enjoy the sunshine and grass when the weather gets warmer. Also needed to make sure the pet shop didn't make any kind of profit on them.

My daughter is a Jonas brothers fan so she's named them. Here they are, introducing 'The Jonas Brothers' ...............:-

Really hope I can find these boys some lovely new homes - they're really friendly.:) Just hope people are not put off by the fact that they're white with pink eyes - it's not their fault after all, they didn't ask to be born that colour.

And please dont be too cross with me - they looked so very sad, I just couldn't leave them there ..........................")

Do Joe and Kevin look like they have some himi in them, or am I wrong?

I can't blame you and wish those brothers the best of luck!

x) Oh Teresa, you know how I feel about these boys! :))

I'm so glad they're with you, poor things spending so long in the petshop (not the largest of cages was it!) and then being reduced to 'clear'! mallethead

Are they all still living together? Love the names!

Poor pink eyed white pigs get a raw deal don't they - but they look like sweet boys! x)

Oh they are lovely :) They look like Himalayans too, which I LOVE! Anyone who is put off by red eyes is an idiot and doesn't deserve a piggy anyway. Well done, I'd have probably done the same thing x

I agree - think Joe and Kevin are himis or at least himi crosses :)

They are all together at the moment but I'm watching carefully in case of squabbles.

Well done hun, they deserve to be given a better life and that is what you are going to enable them to have.

nothing wrong with white pink eyes piggies I adore my cottonbud! I am sure there will be people biting your hand off for such gorgeous boys!

I didn't like pink eyes at first - but they look so gorgeous! Hopefully, they will find a loving home soon...

Wish it could have been me - they look so sweet!

I'd have done the same too. Gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous!

Well done you for getting them out and hopefully rehomed.

Well done to you - I love pink eyed piggies, our Barbra wouldn't be the same with dark eyes!

wish I had the room and a more understanding OH ;)

They are gorgeous, I have a pink eyed white baby boar up for adoption at th eminute too. They are so sweet, our Bruno is just so sweet. I hope your little fellers find a home soon x

Aw poor little guys. They're all adorable, I love Nick's little face x)

I hope you manage to rehome them quickly xx

they are beautiful two of them do have some himi markings x) how can anyone not like a himi? my Amy would be upset if she heard that! :))

malletheadmallethead why dont people like white piggies?/?/is it there red eyes or there colour?/ i didnt know thismallethead

I cant understand it either - my friends are chosen for their personality not the colour of their hair or eyes :) Wish people wouldn't be so shallow - a piggy should be loved for who it is, not what colour it happens to be.

A brief update on these boys - they seem to have settled very well and considering the kind of life they've had so far they're remarkably friendly.

I've told them you all think they're handsome and they're looking very chuffed :)).

awww they are little stunners my new adoptie has realy pink eyes that and the fact he had to bites out of his ear is why i wanted him to live with me :)

PEW's are one of my favourite breeds, i love red/pink eyed piggies but the sad fact is most people think they are/look evil rolleyes

Having seen a lack of PEW's in petshops i've asked why & was told they don't take them because of peoples opinions & the piggies are left to grow up in petshops :(

I think the boys are stunning x) & hope they find someone to love them for WHO they are regardless of the colour of their eyes!

Pink eyed whites are the hardest to rehome :( and a lot of people say any pink eyed pig looks 'scarey' - even my lilac ones rolleyes

Bless the boys, hope they find someone who appreciates them!

I think animals in pet shops shouldn't be forgotten, they too should have a happy life with some one who cares for them. Well done for taking them in, for sure now they will have a long and happy life.x>>
