Pet shop rant!

I avoid pet shops as much as I can but was having a wander around a big shopping centre and one in there has a poor skinny pig sat alone in a glass enclosure :( I've had a lot of guinea pigs and other animals but know very little about skinny pigs other than that they need somone who knows what they're doing! mallethead This little pig was being sold on his/her own with a pathetic sign sellotaped above saying that they're pretty much the same as guinea pigs except they might need to eat a bt more and be kept warm mallethead Rant! grrrr
 
This wasn't Two By Two' again was it (Merry Hill)? If so, ask Merrypip about her experiences with them......that place needs shutting down, IMO.

Yep that's the one! I've only been in there a couple of times, I can't stand the enclosures they have the animals in grrrr
 
I posted elsewhere about the moan I had to the manager so everyone in store could hear me. It should be closed down.

it worries me someone who isn't clued up may see this piggie and think it a 'novelty' and just not be prepared for how to care for it.
I would write a strong letter of complaint to your local council, (they issue the licenses) give them a ring and and find out who deals with it so you can address it directly to them or get an email address.
I complained once about my local pet store and they were really good, took my complaint on board (it wasn't the first) and they made an inspection etc.
So its worth pursuing.
Good luck, I hope soemthing happens about this store, it sounds horrendous!
 
Oh not that place >_<
I walked in there once, I made a big commotion with the manager about it, none of the animals had any water.
Terrible enclosures just basically a glass box, No where to hide away. incorrect guidance on anything.
