Pet shop said hes never used a water bottle

As some of you know Ive got myself a new piggie, when I got him they said hes always been used to a bowl of water as they don't use bottles in the shop, So been putting a bowl of water in the cage but they keep knocking it over.

Not seen him try to use the water bottle yet but to be honest I very rarely see the others do it even know I know they do as I measure it just to check.

I've given over with the bowl now as its making the fleece really wet. would he work it out himself any suggestions what I can do, shall I syringe feed him some water in the mean time, I'm sure he will see the other one doing it, just wanna make sure hes getting water.
 
oh bless. Is he wriggly or could you hold him on your lap? Perhaps if you squeezed a drop of water out the bottle he would get the idea? My pet shop doesnt give any veggies (my opinion they say they do! but I have never seen any in the cages!)
 
Just put the bottle in... He'll work it out eventually... :))

This has also always been my experience if piggies are in a herd. They'll end up copying the others.

If you are worried I would advise feeding a slice or two of cucumber as it's mainly water and a lot easier than syringing your piggy! ;)
 
Thank you, ive not seen any of them use there water bottle today, bet they use it when I'm asleep or out haha :)
 
Thanks but I cant do that as there is another piggie in the cage with him, we shall see what happenes
