Pet Shop Upset

Hi, my daughter just bought hay from a well known pet shop and was really upset when she saw two guinea pigs, who were up for adoption, being kept in one of the smaller animal tanks in the wall, rather than one of the bigger guinea pig enclosures. Will looked quite young, but Bruce is quite a big pig. Are they allowed to do this? I wish I could take them but I've three young sows.

Sadly there does not seem to be any laws about the way pet shops keep their animals. What I do is never shop in them with the hope others will follow then they will go out of business. You can always make a complaint to the council and hope they investigate.

You are absolutely right- I'll buy my hay elsewhere in future! Apparently the tank was smaller than a metre!
