Junior Guinea Pig
I was at Pet Smart a few days ago (a popular pet store chain in America) to pick up a brush for my longer haired pig and I paused to look at the guinea pigs in what can only be described as a small glass display case. On my way in the two baby pigs were cuddled up together in a hut, but on my way out they were up and about and then I realized something was missing. There was no water bottle!The stand was there and the pigs were waiting by it as if they were thirsty. I stayed for a bit to see if maybe someone was refilling it, but no one ever came back. I tried to tell someone but all of the employees were busy, as they had a sale going on, and I was too shy to interrupt. Things like this make me realize how poorly most pet stores care for their animals.
He looked older than the others, so sadly he hadn't been brought I think so was in with littler ones. But he just wouldn't leave this little guy alone, biting and mounting, the little one was trying to eat and just couldn't. So I told staff who said, Oh yeah we seen him, we should move him to another pen! Why did they let him carry on? They moved him in with older ones. and I have seen no food in the runs, so tell them, bet they get annoyed with me, but I don't care!
People get caught up in other things, I'm sure shortly after they were given water again. Know how many times I've been cleaning my animals cages, and got a phone call, or had to deal with another animal and they didn't have their water bottle again for a bit of time? LOTS. Everyone lived, and everyone was given water again.
