i have to in every month to pick a big bag of gerty guinea pig food up and i allways go to look at them

Hi,
Is there nowhere else you can shop to buy your guinea pig food, or perhaps you could buy it online?
I prefer to shop for my pet stuff in places that don't sell pets as I don't agree in principle with them being sold from shops.
Places like this don't deserve the custom of people like you who care about animals.
If you are concerned about the guineas, contact your local environmental health and voice your concerns :)
good luck and it's lovely to see that you care,.

Haven't got a Pet Warehouse near us that I know about, just a P@H. Don't go there though, unless I need hay, and I usually bulk up on it. Tend to get pet food delivered online or if I ever run out, nip to our local sainsburys as they stock Gerty guineapig and Russel Rabbit.

I feel the same way as Cavykind, as I would rather try and get my supplies from places that don't sell animals - I just end up leaving feeling so upset most of the time...

If you have a local Sainsburys, check there as I've been in a few now that I have seen stocking these foods. If not, maybe worth checking online and seeing if you can buy it and get it delivered? I tend to use : Pet-Supermarket and Seapets but theres loads more sites out there that sell pet food etc..

I am another one that buys from places that do not sell livestock. Kennelgate do not sell livestock is there one of those near you. Like someone else said supermarkets sell guinea pig food as do wilkinsons. If it upsets you to see animals living in those conditions complain about it. You never know they might just do something about it.

well its the only place i know that sell the big bags of gerty guinea pig food in the draker blue bag

i have only ever seen the the new verison of gerty ginea pig in pets warehouse and there have big bags as my local pet shop only sells little bags which wont last more than 2 weeks as the bigger bags last about 4 weeks

at morresions by me there only sell there own brand

Maybe you could take a look in your Yellow Pages and ring around local pet supplies. Many of the smaller shops bag up Gerty or other brands and sell it in varying amounts :)

Our local RSCPA small animal rescue has a teeny shop where you can buy Gerty Guinea Pig for just £1 for roughly the size of a £3 back in places :) they also sell some wicker balls and sick bundles etc - perhaps other local shelters sell these things locally?

We still use P@H in emergencies and really wish I didn't as I totally agree about patronising pet shops that sell live animals. I always leave getting angry and upset about the piggies :(
