I have seen online a cage called rabbit and guinea pig home 160. Obviously it is waaay too small for rabbits except as a base.

The internal measurements are 156.5 x 77 x 61.5 high.

I have applied for two boars from a rescue in Bath and have messaged them asking if that sounds big enough.

I would really like to know what people on here think. I only have limited space now that I have moved house also the cage has to be on tables as I have a dog (Rusty poodle x who knows what).

I have two 100 x 60 cm ikea tables for the cage to go on and I have c and c grids arriving tomorrow. If this cage is ok it feels kind of safer than c and c grids. Opinions most welcome.
 
I adopted my boars and after a couple of too rigorous cage cleans, they started to fall out with each other. Luckily I had them in C&C grids and could give each boar his own cage, keeping the cages about 12cm apart. When I tried to merge the cages with a shared wall, Truffle threw himself against the wall and I had to put a blanket up until I had redone the cages back into two again. Boar dramas happen unfortunately. If they get on well, the cage should be great. It is nice to have the security of a lid, especially if the cages are off the floor. Keep your grids though 🤞
 
Reading the reviews it seems very sturdy - only complaint stated you need to put the water bottle / container inside as the base makes it too high for a Guinea pig to reach - it would be nicely secure from your dog and you could add towels/blanket to create a dark corner.

The rescue has said that the space I have on offer is too small for guinea pigs. It does mean that they have wonderfully high standards which is good.

I am wondering if it may be a better idea to get sows as the falling out thing is less likely ...

It makes a lot of sense. Or a neutered boar and his wifey 💜
 
Our P@H has the 140 version in stock, it's not very good quality, the base is flimsy and is already cracked on a corner in the shop. This is labeled as a Ferplast cage but it's not the quality of the ferplast cages I've seen elsewhere. I think @weepweeps has a large Ferplast?
 
Ive a feraplast 160cm plaza from zooplus ,which wwas a pain to put together.
I also have a 140cm feraplast cage which is very sturdy.ive a sow and neutered boar pair in this.140cm x 77cm.The rescue i adopted from recommend this cage.
 
I am now looking at adapting the shed. I can possibly do an L shape of some kind.

There is already an 8 x 1.5 shelf so I would ideally add an 8 x 2 shelf to it.

May get a local carpenter to help!
