Anyone seen this advertised- £55 for 100 indoor cage with things like food bowl and water bottle, food some sawdust and some hay I think, For easter.

Good or a Bad thing?

I reckon Good for places like rescues as thats quite cheap- But bad because peope might buy it and a guinea pig and then get bored a few weeks later.

I agree the price is ok, but the size is a no no for two piggys let alone one. I personally think that the rabbit 100 is too small, but thats just my opinion. :)

I did see this offer in my p@h on Friday.

They have pulled their easter rabbit promo lets hope they pull this one too! The last thing we need is more piggies being dumped in rescues come the summer when people go on holiday in the summer! Also the cage is far too small for two piggies esp boars!

I was sold the rabbit 100 for 2 guinea pigs but this was back in January - p@h told me this was the size requirement needed - it actually looks quite big on the shelf in store, then when I set it up and started reading on here I realised it was on the small side, but I purchased a wooden collapsible run which is 116cm x 116cm which I set up in the front room in the morning and then put them back in smaller cage at night time - so they do get a lot of room to play & run all day. (it is also safe for them to stay in the bigger run if I have to go out).

I hope this set up is ok :)

yeah i agree with claire i think people would be more likely to buy if the animal came with the cage. x

I emailed P@H to complain about the Easter Bunny Offer saying it was animal abuse and that most people buying a 3 ft starter cage did not then upgrade to a MUCH larger, appropriate hutch. I mentioned various other things as well. They replied saying due to the number of complaints they had decided not to continue with the offer.
It's always worth letting the 'powers that be' know when you are not happy about something. I appreciate they still sell pathetically small hutches but you can't change the world in a day!

So glad they pulled the rabbit easter offer. I presume they intended to have a similar one for guineas at some point.

Personally, I would never shop in P@H, my morals forbid it! I don't care how cheap their stuff is. C&C cages are way cheaper anyway. :))

i sadly do shop there on occasion but find it quite expensive, I get my nuggets there as I got george there (my first pig) so ever since my pigs have been on P@H nuggets. Also my two rabbits that I get a week on saturday (YAY) are currently on p@h nuggets too so will need to get theirs there too! :(

We have got the rabbit 100 too but with a permanent run attached which at least doubles the size. Is just Gert for now but should be rescuing a baby in a few weeks once her mites have gone and the baby is old enough. Eventually will sort out a C&C cage too.

Briony you can change their nuggets to a different brand should you choose you just need to fade the new one in slowly and fade p@h out. I have switched mine from excel to science selective.

I think it is good in a way, some people are genuine when it comes to buying store pets, I bought my hammy from there and I love him muchly. :)

It is nice to get a cheap set up and good for a beginner. H&L's cage was TINY when I first got them, well it didn't look tiny at the time until I joined here :red but they were teeny at the time and I soon upgraded.
