I was in Pets at Home Straiton Park (Edinburgh) with a friend as we were at Ikea unfortunately as I hate the layout of the store and the fact that people take kids who clearly don't want to be there. My friend was at P@H for cat food so I went over to see the piggies since I can't help myself. One pig clearly had a fungal infection on the side of his nose and another had a weepy, yellow mucus eye. I have reported this to the store in person and also emailed head office. This is unacceptable.
There were also 3 LARGE guinea pigs in a tiny cage waiting to be re-homed as part of the adoption scheme. I worry about this for the obvious reasons but also the fact that people will think that this is an acceptable size to keep three piggies in! It was barely big enough for one
There wasn't enough room for them to move properly. I hope something gets done but I have my doubts.
