Pets at home makes me so mad!

i had to go and buy my girls a new house as they broke there old one but i always have a nosey around but gosh ive never felt so sorry for the poor rabbits!

there was some people with a dog in there and just letting it bark at the rabbits and ive never seen animals so terrified befored in my life if the people didnt look like they'd shoot me id of said something but the workers didnt even bat an eyelid! infact they stopped and complimented them on how good looking the dog was >>> people really do have no idea

I hate that too. It's really not that difficult for Pets at Home to put a up a sign or something saying please keep dogs away from the small animals. The poor things - it must scare the life out of them!

I have to say I take my dogs in sometimes when I go to pick up cat food but I would never take them near the live animals, just seeing a dog never mind if one barked at them would scare the bejeepers out of them.

yeah take your dogs in by all means just not by the live animals

because i take my dog in sometimes if I'm getting s new harness so i can try it on but never by the animals ( even though hes good with them) i just dont want to scare them

oh dear thats not very nice, i dont mind people taking there pets in but when they scare the live animals the staff really should say something.

Last time i was in there. A little girl wanted to see the guinea pigs so the girl working in there picked up the pigloo and obviously the piggies were terrified running around everywhere. THEN she just threw the pigloo back into the area cos she couldnt be bothered bending down. Just missing the piggies and scaring them to death.
I told her to be careful and she just became embarrassed and said sorry !
Plus the usual green water bottles that are too high and no hay ! and one pigloo for about 5 piggies.

Thats terrible! No hay, no water! I think pet shops just shouldn't keep anything more than goldfish! Thats horrible to do that to the piggies! She should have been embarrassed doing that to the piggies........

Emma which one do you go to? The worst locally for me is that Llantrisant one - I complain every time I'm in there, last time they has no divider between pigs and rabbits as it had broken. I usually find (these days) newport Road and Cardiff Bay are alright. Never used to be but I made a huge complaint after a string of bad experiences including the death of a malnourished baby. The area manager then turned both stores around and they have been much better.

Not enough hideys though.

how stupid to take a dog in there!

I take my pooch in there but he is a good boy (apart from weeing on the wet floor signs rolleyes ) - I would never let him scare another animal, not even another dog.

Some people just don't care, how can you be in a pet shop and not care about the pets!?! mallethead

I am contemplating on getting a part time job there (and have been for a while, couldn't resist the sexy uniforms |) ) to make sure the little mites are being looked after (plus I would get staff discount!) Still doesn't stop the other stores being careless though.
