I went in tonight to get something and was very surprised and happy to see frozen water bottles in the pens of the small animals. Hope they keep it up over the summer.
 
I am so glad that p@h have started to take the wellbeing of their animals seriously.
 
Aw thats good!

I went in there the other day and noticed one of the piggies had a poorly eye, I told one of the staff and not only she did go straight there to look she also picked a friend for the piggie so he wouldn't be on his own 'out the back'.

I have a good little story about P@H too. Last Friday at work we had a charity dress down day in aid of our local animal shelter, dogs trust and cats protection.

I sent a begging email to loads of pet companies including Pets at Home asking if they could spare any items for our raffle and they very kindly sent about £60 worth of items including a dog beg and two dog harnsses. It was like Christmas when the box arrived! :D

Could you let me know who you contacted at P@H Little Piggles - I'd like to beg for stuff for our summer dog show! :))
 
I'm so glad they're looking after their animals properly.

My local store is great. They really look after their animals, it makes me sad to think that other stores of the chain give the rest a bad name.
It's about time we had some positive stories to tell :)

I was very impressed a month or so back. Some woman was after a cage for her piggies and guy actually instructed her to build a C&C cage if the piggies were going to be based indoors most of the time. It just made me smile!
 
Maybe head office would appreciate some positive vibes by way of emails. What do you think.:)I might take some pictures of my C+C cage into P@H and see if they would be prepared to display them.
 
Yeh i have to say my local P@H store are always really helpfull and take stuff on board. I oftern over hear animals being bought and good info being given about there care. I also whent into p@h yesterday and the guineapigs had ice water and a fan for each pen.

My local P@H are really good at looking after their animals, it's just their general knowledge of them that is crap and they often give the wrong advice when selling houses for them :(

Hi Hannah,

I just fillled the info in on their website. I don't think I got a specfic person. sent it from my work email though so will check on Monday.

I have to say both of my local stores are very good too. I overheard one of the ladies refuse to sell a gerbil to a guy as she thought his cage sounded to small (he hadn't bought it from them and he was trying to describe it to her)

We got all three of our girls from Pets at Home (before we knew about rescues) and thankfully they are all girls and we still only have the three ;)

I'll be sending a thankyou letter to them once I know how much was raised on our fundraising day, but I do think it would be nice to let head office know of good stores. I'll be dropping them a line anyway :)
