Hi all,

One of our boars makes a noise which can sound either agitated or relaxed and we cannot tell which!
I've looked up all the negative based noises that Guineas make but this doesn't seem to be any of them.

I've attached a video of him sort of chuttering away. If someone could let me know what this means I would be very appreciative!

Sounds to me like he's as yet unsure of being stroked... x

Well he doesn't sound unhappy. But then again he's not purring happily either. But in all honesty not all piggies use exactly the same sounds as each other (it's what makes learning your own piggies sounds and behaviours so much fun). I think he's just getting used to you.

Here's a link to a site with some good indicative piggy sounds. Guinea Pig Sounds

That sounds pretty happy to me. He's certainly not protesting, just maybe a little tentative and unsure what;s going on

That sounds happy to me! Maybe don't stroke so close to his bum I know mine don't like their bottom half or their head being pettted/stroked. What a lovely little boy x

Agent Nibbles makes that sound sometimes when I'm medicating him. I always took it as a sign of minor stress or being unsure whether he's okay or not

Jingle makes that noise when she is slightly annoyed by her sister, Mistletoe.
