We have 3 explosion fur piggies(,the Charmed ones that are all sisters,)Piper and Paige are growing into HUGE piggies, whereas poor lil Pheobe has hardly grown since we had her,Ive seperated her and put her with another young piggy thinking she might not have gotten all the food as the others seemed to sit glued to the bowl,I dunno if she was the runt of the litter but shes tiny, she seems healthy enough but just doesnt put much weight on or grow
its just sad to see her still so small :(

I dunno what to think,i might take her to the vets to get her checked over just to make sure, but shes pooing eating and everything else ok and seems happy enough

I know how you feel, my Gus is still only 750g and he's 6-7 months old. He gets exactly the same stuff to eat as Jack whos a whopping 1100g and about the same age, possibly a month older. I asked about the best way to bulk Gus up and was told that they go through a growth spurt at about 10 months or so. Maybe both Phoebe and Gus will catch up then. I decided not to worry about his weight for now as long as he didn't lose any and was fine in himself.
Dread to think how big Jack will be if he has a growth spurt, will need a crane to lift the big porker.

lmfao @ porker

:( poor dear! have you watched them eating? Maybe she is being pushed out of the food bowl?

Have you checked her over for dread locks etc. Emily gets them on her inside thigh! it must hurt to move, if she has them it might be stopping her move around so much.... a comb will do the trick in finding out.

Aww maybe Pheobe is just meant to be a little piggie. I have had some huge piggies in the past and my two sows are not very big and Rimmer who is much younger is a lot bigger than them and still growing. I am sure she is fine try not to compare them to her sisters.

I had that with Golly & Cubby, Golly was in fact 6wks when I got him and Cubby only 3wks but Cubby grew into a monster(!) and Golly didn't seem to change, he stayed small, then at about 4mths he suddenly seemed to fill up and stretch! He will never be a big as Cubby (thank goodness!) but he is ok size now but I did worry about him! It obviously depends on the breed type too, Cubby is a rex through and through whereas Golly is a bit of a heinz 57!

Another thought - is she Ivomec'd? when my lot were first done it seemed like I had given them some kind of growth hormone!

Whats that? Would I need to get that done to Cindy's babies?

Hils just gave her a trim and shes just had a bath, shes been ivomec'd a while ago so that should be ok but the lil madam really fidgeted, lol

maybe she was the runt and will take her time to grow, all my runts are now big healthy pigs but some of them I never expected to survive they were so tiny infact weenie for obvious reasons is now a stunner

Maybe try hand feeding her a bit of kale everyday, our silver agouti was the same, when we got her she was pretty small ad just didnt seem to be growing, now from handfeeding shes a bit fatter and she absolutly loves being handled and is starting to be super tame! ;)

Also, shes confident enough now to get the food from the cage and even steals veg from the other piggies! ;D

I went over today & something does seem amiss. You know when you can't see anything obvious but you know there is something.... she is half the size of her sisters when you feel the size of her body under all the hair.
Sehnshewhatsit i forgot to say what a fab job you have done with regrouping all the pigs, they all look like they have lots elbow room. Its amazing what an extra hutch can do! I bet Phoebe will do great in her new set up.

now Paige is really sick, she needs a lot of vitamin C which shes getting and shes been to the vet,but she just wont eat unless shes had food pushed into her mouth
I honestly swear its in the damn genes,P@H have a bloody lot to answer for...Paige is going backwards by the day but I'm NOt gonna give up :'(

I have a feeling I'm gonna lose her...funnily enough Glynis's piggy Duke is being the same, not wanting to eat.. :(

Aww come on Paige, eat your dinner for Mummy, you're making her worry :( don't know what to suggest Shaz, maybe some Metatone? see if it brings her appetite up a bit?

So sorry to hear this, but don't give up hope. Fingers are crossed. :) It wouldn't surprise me either if her problems have all been down to p@h. >:(
