Hi all,

I got my boys at 10am today and they have been in hiding ever since! I put out some fresh veg which wasn't touched for a long time. I left the room for an hour and one was out (and had obviously eaten some veg) but galloped into hiding when he saw me! I know this is all fairly normal but is there anything I should be doing? I've covered one end of cage with towel. The boys have pellets, hay, water and fresh veg.

Thanks in advance xx

They are bound to be shy at the moment, just watch from afar & try not too to make any loud sneezes or bags. They will soon build there confidence.

Thanks everyone! They have tunnels (two) but theyre hidying under the platform in their cage! On my other thread someone suggested replacing with a fleece curtain.

Ps I've got three kids age six and under so it's not very quiet BUT they are in an adjoining utility room so get some respite!

Lovely boys. They will be wheeking for vegetables before you know it. Lol

Aww lovely! I also understand the distance you're taking the photo at, any nearer and they scarper! I must say, they do look unusual colours and I love a Dutch

So thats how the hay tray thing works.....I thought it clipped to the inside of the cage rendering it useless for my 13 week old guinea's who cant reach into it. . . .

Learn something new everyday :)

Hahaha if it's any constellation they haven't eaten out of it

Oh what lovely guinea pigs. My two took a couple of weeks to start eating out in the open.

I opened their cage door every day and hand fed them herbs and veg. (Well offered it to them). They will now take it from me. They will also eat out in the open when I am near by.

I am sure your lovely boys will soon settle.
