Picky Boar :(

[Little Piglets]

Other than pellets and Timmy Hay, young Boar only seems to like lettuce, carrots (only the carrot, not leaf), and celery leaf (only the leaf, not actual celery). Literally everything else I've tried, he sniffs and runs away; kinda funny to see his reaction, like he got a whiff of something rancid or something. Things he won't touch are:

-Apples
-Blueberries
-Broccoli
-Cherry Tomatoes
-Cucumbers
-Green/Red Bell peppers
-Kale
-Oranges
-Strawberries

Any ideas of other veggies/fruits (high in C) he might like or worth trying, especially for a picky eater?

Coriander is a good daily veg. We either feed that or Lettuce as the main part of tea.

Sometimes it can take a few times of offering a new food before a piggy will eat it, so keep trying with the ones he has refused.

He, finally took some cucumber after refusing it several times already. Thanks for that advice Flutterby.

Guinea pigs learn what food is safe from their elders. If your piggy was only exposed to carrot. lettuce and celery leaf when he was little and with older piggies then he only knows he can eat this. Keep offering different veg as @Flutterby has advised.

This is so true, is your guinea pig alone? If they’re with an older guinea pig they tend to copy them, almost like ‘I want what your having’ and they will both eat quicker too.

Just what I was thinking. It can take some patience and time to get him wanting different veggies. I admit I was working hard on my first liking any salad at all until we added the second guinea pig and she learned from her. However, she was slowly coming around. I was expecting a month or more of consistent efforts.
