Hey, everyone! It's been a while.

I'm writing because I'm concerned about Bliss. I got her and Cuddles in February, and immediately started feeding them leaf lettuce, celery, cucumber, a tiny bit of carrots, cilantro and red pepper every morning and every evening for their veggies. They also get corn husks and silks whenever I have them. Mouthfuls of bananas, raspberries and strawberries are reserved for special treats. Frolic has joined the herd and given birth to Tickles, and they all share the same diet.

At first, Bliss and Cuddles did not like red pepper. But I kept offering it to them, and they eventually grew to love it. Bliss would gobble it down so eagerly that I thought it was her favourite food. I stopped being worried about if they would eat red pepper.

When I feed them veggies, I toss some pieces of lettuce in their cage, and while they are eating that, I chop up the other veggies and scatter them around the cage. I like letting them wander and find the veggies. These days, Tickles seems to eat red pepper the most, but the others seem to refuse it if there are other veggies available. If I just leave the piggies be, Tickles will eat all the red pepper, and the others will ignore it.

So today, I decided that I would from now on feed them red pepper first and refrain from adding in other veggies until they have eaten enough. This seemed to work for Cuddles and Frolic. They ate a sufficient amount of red pepper.

However, Bliss refused to take even one bite. I offered her each of the pieces of red pepper I had chopped up, and she didn't want any of it. I took her out of the cage and offered her the red pepper while she was on my lap. Nope. I got frustrated and just tossed the whole red pepper in the cage. She wanted to eat the seeds, so I had to take it out.

I also bought yellow pepper last week and feed them that until there was none left. She treats it the same.

She won't eat red pepper, and I've read that it's the most important veggie for them to eat. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hi! peppers are full of vitamin c, which is why they are recommended for daily feeding. Have u tried green pepper? Or chopping it up into little pieces or long thin strips to strike interest?
Here is a link to the recommemded balanced diet, which may help:

I could try switching over to green pepper and I could also try different shape pieces. Thanks for the ideas.

Success! I tried a handful of red and yellow pepper (That's what's in the fridge at the moment. I'll buy green pepper once they use up the last teeny bit of red pepper I have.) all cut up in different pieces. Everyone came to get the pepper. Bliss even sniffed a few pieces. I then got long strips of yellow pepper, and everyone crowded to get some bites. Even Bliss! She always preferred it when I held her food for her. I should have known.

I hope this works consistently.

I find if I chop up my piggies food into small piece they eat all of it. If I was to say chuck a whole carrot not chopped up it wouldnt be fully eaten
